Academic background:
Nurse-midwife Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (1996). She has a postgraduate degree in Methodology of Health Education (2001) and Nursing Intervention in Mental Health and Psychiatry (2001) both at the University of Barcelona, and in Family and Community Health Nursing (2004) at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Master in Nursing at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2009). In 2020, she began her doctoral studies in Sociology at the Universidad Alberto Hurtado.

Research activities and publications (last 5 years):
- Her lines of research are Support for Self-Management of People with Chronic Health Conditions and Health Promotion.
- She has been awarded 3 research projects with national funding (2) and School of Nursing (1).
- She is first author of 1 publication and co-author in 5 publications in scientific journals, 4 are articles indexed in ISI/Scopus, 1 indexed in Scielo and 1 indexed in other databases), 1 training manuals for patients and professionals (one as main author, five as co-author) and 4 technical documents for MINSAL in the area of care of people with non-communicable diseases (all co-author), 1 book chapter (sole author), and 2 book chapters of national congress proceedings (both co-author).
Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching activities (last 5 years):
- She teaches in undergraduate courses and coordinates courses in the area of community nursing: “Nursing in Community Health I”, “Nursing Intervention in Community Health”, “Outpatient Nursing Internship” and “Self-care of Health” in which she has implemented teaching innovations based on funded projects.
- She teaches the course of the Master in Nursing, “Current Debates in Nursing Theories” and guides theses of the Master in Nursing and the Master in Public Health of the UC.
- She participates in the evaluation commissions of Master’s thesis of the School of Nursing and since 2016, she is a member of the faculty of the Master’s Degree in Nursing. She is a guest lecturer in undergraduate and graduate courses on topics related to her expertise.
Extension and outreach activities (last 5 years):
- 35 presentations in scientific events (24 international).
- She has participated in the training of health professionals at national and international level, thus contributing to concretize the guidelines provided by WHO/PAHO for the implementation of the Chronic Care Model.
- She is a member of the “WHO/PAHO Collaborating Center for the Development of Health and Nursing Services for the Care of Non-Communicable Diseases” contributing to position the ES as a national and international reference in the care of people with chronic health conditions.
